C’est avec une énorme tristesse que je vous annonce le décès de Sugano Shihan, survenu à New York le 30 août 2010.
Après avoir marqué à jamais notre pratique de l’aïkido et notre vie, et après avoir relevé tant de défis à force de courage, Sensei a finalement franchi le pont qui se tient entre la terre et le ciel.
Un hommage lui sera également rendu en Belgique.

It is with great sadness that I must inform you of the passing of Sugano Shihan, deceased in New York on august 30 2010.
After having made a forever lasting impression on our lives and practice of Aikido, and after having courageously taken up so many challenges, Sensei has finally crossed the bridge which stands between heaven and earth.
A tribute shall also be organized in Belgium .

Je suis triste d’apprendre que Sensei nous a quitté.
Néanmoins, il était présent pour nous lors de notre « écolage » à Maredsous. Pour tous ce qu’il nous a enseigné pendant des années, pour sa patience à l’enseignement, pour son humour, nous ne le remercierons jamais assez. Aussi quoiqu’il arrive maintenant, plus que jamais, j’essaierai de suivre sa voie.
Merci Sensei et bon voyage.
I will cherish the years I could spend next to him in the Netherlands and Belgium as his translator and student. Sensei has at last left the bridge between heaven and earth. He will never be replaced.
To the people of our Aikido community i wish strength and serenity.
